An altogether different experience
"We’ve been to Kauai a half-dozen times, but this trip was an altogether different experience. From our first conversation with Lauren, we knew we’d found the person to really guide us to choose not only the best house and location, but to brainstorm with us about outings and activities that would be amazing, and age-appropriate for our two kids. We chose a property that was a short walk to the beach, but also offered a jaw-dropping river setting to paddle our SUP’s down. On this trip, our 5 and 8 year old were thrilled to learn to surf, to accomplish their first hike, and even to join us on a botanical garden tour that we imagined they’d find boring but, with Lauren’s encouragement (and description of the children’s area), we forged ahead. It was delightful. Taking the kids for shave ice afterwards might have been their favorite part. We explored beaches we’d never been to before (or even heard of), we dined at awesome restaurants that we’d never tried, but turned out to be surprisingly family-friendly (at certain times – again thanks to Lauren’s insight), and relaxed completely in our super comfy vacation home. The one experience that we all can’t stop talking about and sharing with our friends is the morning we met with Lauren and her darling dog, Shadow, and swam with the turtles. Other folks don’t seem to have found this special beach and cove, as we were alone the whole morning. The water was clear and calm, and our kids giggled and shrieked as turtle after turtle swam close, nibbling sea kelp on the reef. Our oldest daughter, who had just learned to snorkel, swam alongside a Honu for ten minutes and our youngest gleefully kicked around on his boogie board, dunking his goggled head in the water to see each turtle as they approached. Our GoPro photos are as good as any I’ve seen but still don’t come close to capturing the magic and joy of the experience."
